Hi Chris, I just lost my job too and also looking fo agency work. Wards closing in my nearby hospital in ENT and no orthopaedic surgery for the Summer. TBH things are looking quite bleak fro where I am. Appearently though there is plenty of agency in Dublin. Try CPL agency. Good luck

The hospital I worked in until recently had largely stopped using agency nurses, and instead offered spare shifts to nurses who were on days-off.

The Hospital I work in has set up its own Agency bank and uses Nurses and Healthcare Assistants from within the hospital.Prior to the setting up of this Banking system they used a lot of Agency, Alliance,MRS etc.
There is still a bit of Agency work here and there, and on occasion, but nothing like before. The Agency staff that had been with the hospital regularly were interviewed and now work through the Hospital bank,as Employees of the Hospital but on an Agency basis.
Having said all that it is still cheaper for the hospital to use the likes of CPL etc for Sunday work and peak Holidays,as they don't have to pay the double time premiums etc.
