This is just my own personal experience. I would not recommend Smiles to anyone. Making money is their main objective which is fair enough but they don't even pretend to have a fraction of interest in their clients. As I said this is just my opinion.

    Hi,

Anyway, Im not going to get into that.

Mod says: Either back it up, or don't mention it at all, thanks

Seamus Keating is an excellent orthodontist, he is up in the private clinic on the Western Road, close to UCC. He regularly lectures up in the Dental Hospital, and will give you excellent treatment. I have friends who attended him for ortho, and they were all happy with their results. The dentist I used work for also referred a lot of patients to Seamus Keating, and again, the work was always impeccable. I had Keating for some ortho lectures at College, and even though he could be very grouchy with us, he knew his stuff. Would definitely recommend him. But remember, stay away from smiles.

Hmm for some reason some of my comment was edited (perhaps tbh has some connection with smiles?? ). Again, you asked are smiles orthodontists any good. As a dental professional, I am qualified to choose who to recommend (or not recommend) to patients. I personally dont recommend Smiles to any of my patients, but thats my own personal choice. I have to say though, as far as I know, Smiles in Cork dont have an orthodontic department, and send patients to one of their clinics in Dublin for any orthodontic treatment necessary. Obviously thats a pain in the ass for you seeing as you live in Cork.
Again, Seamus Keating is an excellent orthodontist, and is highly regarded. Other orthodontists in Cork I would recommend are Bridget Dinneen in Douglas, and Owen Crotty also in Douglas. The only thing about Owen Crotty is that although he is excellent, he also has a practice in West Cork somewhere (possible Clonakilty or Skibereen) so he wont be in Douglas the whole week. This may not suit you if you are working or in college. But nevertheless, he is excellent.
    So my recommendations would be:
    Seamus Keating,
    Bridget Dineen
    and
    Owen Crotty.
    :D
