Portarlington - TV Reception

I am buying a house in Portarlington: I notice that houses which don't have Chorus/UPC/Sky have 2 tv aerials (one UHF, the other VHF). What transmission mast are they using ?

I see that Cairnhill mast in Longford has the 4 Irish channels on UHF, therefore only 1 aerial required. Anybody know if you can you pick up Cairnhill in Portarlington ?

Much easier to use one aerial. The house is in Whitefields, off Station Road.

    Thanks

Generally Kippure & Mount Leinster signals are stronger around there but Cairn Hill may well work if there are no trees or hills to the north west.
If you're not fussy about TG4 (usually the weakest) the group B "Longford" aerial will do perfectly well on its own later for DTT from either Cairn Hill or Mt Leinster.

I'm living in Portarlington & I've been picking up the DTT trials from Mt Leinster using a loft aerial. Analogue signal isn't great with it, but I'm sure if I had a proper external aerial the signal would be fine
