I'm out of work a month and I have to wait until 5th August before I can even meet with someone in the social welfare office. Then you're talking another 10 weeks before receiving any payment. I'm absolutely smashed atm and living off my mothers food. Where is the CWO for Dublin 2 and what should I bring with me to claim money for the basics, food?

Print this file off if you can, and read it through, it will tell you everything you need to know, pretty much.

You will be filling this file in anyways- so you would be as well off printing it out and reading it as soon as possible.

I am going into see my CWO tomorrow- I will let you know what happens and tell you if there is anything special you should know or do.

I went into the CWO on Tuesday and had to go back today with the form, bank statement, 3 payslips, mother's payslip and P45. I brought it all and the officer told me she'd have do to a few calculations and ring me back when she's finished.

I got a call and she was happy to tell me I qualified for full payment and to go down to collect the cheque. I went down a few minutes ago and she had the cheque. I asked her if I could have the payslips, statements, etc. that I left with her for social welfare. She said she'd hold onto them and that I just had to ring her when I got my appointment card for social welfare. I told her I'm meeting with them next Wednesday. She told me that's fine and that was it.

Does anyone know if I'm supposed to go back down to collect these documents before my appointment with social welfare on Wedensday?

Well, if you don't get them in time for the appt with social welfare, you could just explain to them that you left them in with the CWO, and that you qualified for the full SWA.

If you qualify for full SWA you qualify for full JBA so that's pretty much that...

    Good luck next week :)

I went in to social welfare for the appointment. The guy was decent but he said they'd need all the documents that I left with the CWO. He said she should have photocopied them anyway. He took my forms anyway and just told me to drop the rest of the stuff at reception whenever I can.

Now I'll have to go back down to the CWO tomorrow. I don't even know if she'll have my documents in that office as she uses a couple of offices. Very frustrating and it's a pity I couldn't hold off going to the CWO until after the social.

What has your mothers payslip got to do with anything??? Are you under 25? Thanks.
