Male Singer Wanted-Cork Originals Band

Gunnie Highway an originals cork rock outfit require a energetic frontman with an excellent stage presence and very strong vocals. Our sound is hard to describe but some of the songs are heavy, fast and loud. More are soft, slow tempo'd melodic tunes. Lyrics and structure are in place in recorded songs available as of next monday, but obviously new singer will be writing new material with the band and will have an equal input into the songs (new and old)- Ryt guitar would be a massive bonus.

We are all between 23-25 and are a great laugh and easy going-enjoy a beer and a good jam at times but are also very serious about moving forward with things and gettin establised on the gigging scene around cork, dub, lim, waterford etc. so all we would ask is that we get full commitment from whoever we take on. we have gigs booked for the next few weeks but our current frontman is emigrating come late august so want to get someone in place by then- so ideally would like the new person to come to a rehearsal or two before current singer leaves.

if interested mail on a few links to some of your stuff.

    Cheers

    Sgt Tom "Gunny" Highway

Hey, If you're still looking for a singer, i'm definitely available.
I'm 22, and been in many bands over the years, had many gigs from Cyprus Avenue to Fred Zepp and such.

I've explored many styles and i'm looking to get back into playing with other people and writing some material. I have my own mic, if that helps.

Here's a link of one of my old songs i sang with my casual band, 'The Nick Nolte Trust Fund' called 'When the Bottle Ends': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNxf3xvL3RU

Influences are Alice in Chains, Leonard Cohen, CSN, The Doors, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins - and a lot more.

Hi guys, I'm definitely up for a jam at some point. I work pretty annoying hours at my job, I have monday, tuesday and wednesdays off every week if you're free to meet up.

Listened to your songs, would be really cool sing with you all at a jam

Some of those 38 views are probably going to be web crawlers rather than real people so the number of views of a thread doesn't necessarily mean that many people have actually viewed it.

With all due respect Malice (leave your mod status at the door). Please dont try and defend boards by sayin its web crawlers, be honest and admit that in whole honesty, very few people will get a positive result out of posting for musicians on here. Every poster on here will freely admit that theres too much talkin not enough action out of most posters and thread viewers on here!!

I don't know why you want to bring my mod status into it, I would have posted the same thing even if I wasn't a mod. I was simply offering a tip that a lot of people don't realise about web forums. If it was something you already knew then fair enough but I have no way of knowing your level of knowledge :).

For what it's worth, I agree that there are a lot of threads where openings go unfulfilled. I know exactly how frustrating that can be. I had a thread up looking for a vocalist for my band which, despite some interest, we didn't manage to find.
