Has anybody got past experience on experience on trying to get tickets for either of these away fixtures? Are they hard to get and what is the better weekend for the craic?

French ones are easy peasy to come by. Sign up on the mailing list on www.francebillet.com (think French ticketmaster) and you get emails about when the tickets go on sale (around Jan usually). I've had no problems getting them and we've been to the last 2 or 3 away internationals there.

A slight downside on Paris v Edinburgh or Cardiff (Edinburgh is my favourite away trip) is that because of the size of Paris the craic gets diluted after the game. Everyone gets the train back to Paris but it's then a case of finding a good spot. We were in an Irish bar near the Louvre last time and it was great craic, apart from getting my head split open (unintentionally!) by the bar man :D

Myself and a bunch of lads are thinking of going to the England game in Twoclers next year. How would I go about getting tickets for that game? How hard would it be to get 4 or 6 tickets?

If you dont get tickets you could always head down to these matches anyways. There's always irish lads selling tickets in the irish bars for face value.

Tried that before....unsuccessfully! If you don't have a ticket don't go to twickers in the hope of finding one.

So does anyone know how I would go about getting tickets for this game?
Do they go on sale on the RFU site or on ticketmaster, or what?

if you are a member of a club they normally have a draw for them, other than that maybe join the irish rugby supporters club as they sometimes sell them...

www.toutless.com is always worth a try for face value tickets.

Irish Rugby Supporters Club brilliant for tickets, haven't let me down in 3 years of being a member. €50 for annual membership I think and seem to get a generous allocation.

At last England match in Twickers, great buzz even with the result. Richmond and Irish Bars in City Centre were hopping.

Ressurected this thread. Does anyone know is it difficult to get to Twickers from Luton as I have just booked 2 tickets with RyanAir leaving Friday morning and coming home Sunday evening total cost €80 inc taxes, fees cc charge etc, great value at €40 pp.

Good, just never been through Luton before and wanted to highlight the price as Aer Lingus are looking for €600 for the same weekend.

Used to live near enough to there (well more in London, but return often now via Luton), it's a complicated journey, I would imagine the best way to do it is to get a bus at Luton to Watford (should take about an hour I'd say, train's quicker but I'm not 100% sure about the stations the train goes to); hop on the tube at Watford, Northern Line, change at King's Cross onto the Picadilly Line (southbound), you'll have to change again at Earl's Court or South Kensington onto the District Line going to Richmond. Twickers is actually about a mile or two from there but on big match days they usually have buses that run from the station to the stadium. It's complicated and takes a while but ultimately will definitely work out a hell of a lot cheaper than flying into the city airports!

Train goes to St. Pancras station once an hour apparently - from there you can then hop on the picadilly and onto the district line - might be easier, might not be. 35 mins

edit: in fact, Luton -> Blackfriars via that same train, apparently. From blackfriars you can hop on the district line to richmond, then its about a half hour walk. (or bus, as damselnat says). Of course, doublecheck anything I say here.

That would be a lot more straightforward! Cuts out the Northern Line completely. Shame I have to pick up people in Watford

Flew into Luton for Leinster match earlier in the year, going down to Richmond took only 55 mins by car, Twickers walking distance from there. Got great deal on rental car. Worked out to be hour & 40 mins by train & connecting train but that was in morning maybe shorter other times.

If thats the case, the other two stops on that train line are City, and london bridge. Haven't looked up, but not as bad as getting the bus to watford for the northern line. :)

Bit mad that blackfriars is closed, was one of the stations I used a lot when visiting my brother a few years ago.
