Following on from my previous thread:

I have now narrowed the field & have been looking (mainly) at Acer 6930/6935. These seem to have right combination of decent processor, memory & graphics card - please correct me if I'm wrong :)

Have seen reference on similar threads to refurb. laptops from the likes of laptops direct & there are a couple of machines on adverts.ie that might fit the bill. Is there anything specific I should look out for if choosing the "not quite new" option?

All sggestions very gratefully received as I really need to sort this this week.

    Cheers

Make sure the battery holds its charge as they Deteriorate after time. Make sure everything works as it should, ie, that it boots up okay, check that it doesn't overheat when doing intense work on it, like gaming/watching hd movies.
