Capturing a batch file?

Not sure how to title this one...

Noticed today that very occassionally (4 times so far, just started today), a small- 1/3 of screen size-- command prompt window pops up for a split second, just long enough for me to see that it is there and there is scrolling text, then disappears.
There seems to be no adverse effects to my machine so far, but I would like to know what it is going on. Nothing showing up on virus scans or spy-bot, nothing new installed recently, no untrusted sites visited, can't see anything untoward in the running processes.
Is there any way to catch this program? It happens to fast for me to react when it appears, and I can't read any of the text to get atitle or filename.

    Using Vista Ultimate SP1.

Thanks for any help (or sympathy...)
    Jeff

Try doing a search and search for *.bat files, and see if any are in weird places?
