Gmail not working on iPhone?

    Hi all,

For some reason Gmail has stopped working on my iPhone. I can still receive and read emails but I can't reply to or send new mails. I'm not getting any error messages, the new message icon "glows" briefly when I touch it but then nada. I can send and receive emails through Gmail if I access it through Safari - it's just the email application I have problems with. It's one of the new 16GB 3GS models. Any ideas?

    Many thanks, Emma

Same thing happened to me for a while....I just deactivated my account in settings and then activated it again and that seemed to do the trick

Thanks a mill - that worked!

This happens to me regularly, but fixes itself after about 30 mins. It seems to happen at a particular time of the day - generally between 5 and 6pm. I've always presumed it's for reasons of network capacity

Yes, after fixing it yesterday it went again today. All I have to do is go into settings and switch account to off then on again and it works. Bit of a pain to have to do that regularly though. Will keep an eye on times of day, etc. Thanks for the heads up.

I just went into settings and made sure "Use SSL encryption" was on.
