LFC TV, the official club television channel, is now completely free to watch to all supporters.

Launched in September 2007, LFC TV was previously only available as part of the Setanta Sports Pack but following the Irish broadcaster entering into administration last month, the club have now made the channel available for free for a short period.

LFC TV's free period will cover all of our pre-season friendlies and fans who tune into the channel will be able to watch delayed coverage of every game we play this summer - from our first game on Wednesday in Switzerland against St Gallen to our final warm-up game against Atletico Madrid at Anfield on August 8.

Hopefully now it stays free to air. I think it might, as there's definately a lot more ad's than there used to be from what I remember when I had it as part of Sellotanta, so hopefully this will help sustain it financially.

It'll also be the only Premiership team with a free to air station, which can only be good news commercially.

Yeah I thought so myself. Apparently it could become part of the ESPN package.

Pity, but I suppose it wouldn't make financial sense to make it free when people are willing to pay for it.

As a Liverpool fan I was delighted to see our very own channel come into existance and loved to see some of our academy players first hand, but a failure of this channel and others like it now is the fact they dont carry any live premiership matches, I understand why this is so but when the match isnt carried on any other channel I for one think it should be broadcasted Live on their own channel.

However that said I think its great for them to broadcast for free at present and look forward to watching into the future.

Sky Sports sub with multiroom - €68 (with a €7 discount)

Setanta - €16.99

ESPN - €12

Racing UK - €25

Horse racing channels were never cheap. This isn't surprising at all. They obviously get subscribers if they can charge it.

I had Racing UK as part of the setanta sub - it's free at the moment but I would never pay that much for a racing channel especially as it only shows certain racing - ATR has the rest.

I did stump up the 12 for ESPN though - they have a pretty good line up of football - I think it's a lot better than the 21.99 I was paying to setanta
