Which SkyHD box?

    Hey,
    Getting Sky HD installed next Wednesday and need some advice on which box to go for if I'm given a choice. The Pace boxes seem to be the fastest/most reliable from what I can see, so I asked the rep if it was possible to request one. He said that all their HD boxes are either Thomson or Samsung, with 99% being Thomson ones. Any current users have an opinion on any of these boxes? Does anyone have one of the Pace ones?

    I havent seen a Thompson HD box for a while, and any HD boxes I get in to use lately are either Pace or Samsung, if given the choice I would pick the Pace anytime and you can now immediately update to the new epg with a forced software update which is great.

    I havent come across any problems as of yet with the Samsung boxes however apart from they appear slightly slower to button presses than that of the Pace .

    I have had a Thomson and a Pace. With the new EPG the Pace is far more responsive. As far as I know all the Thomsons being issued now are reconditioned, not new. It seems they fail a lot and are reissued when "repaired". Anyway i'd go for a Pace anytime.

    Thanks for the replies. From what the sales rep was saying, it didn't seem a Pace was an option. I suppose I'll just have to hope the installer has one with him? I don't much fancy getting a reconditioned box.
