    I applied for a job the other day, to the above company. They have a new place opening up in mullingar.

    I applied for this job on jobs.ie, in their advert they say the following:

    We require people to develop in all areas of the industry, including:

    * Sales
    * Advertising
    * Customer Service
    * Leadership
    * Campaign Coordination
    * Management skills

    What I would like to know, is this company another one of those door to door sales companies that have you selling crap out of a bag? If that is the case, there is no way in hell I am driving all the way to mullingar to meet with "managing director" of the company.

    The only people that have got back to me after an application, are the scum stealth companies that sell crap door to door. They advertise "marketing" positions and the likes, fill you with hope then crush you when they say "you have to walk miles and miles every day selling crap from this lucky bag"...

    Anybody know anything about Spire recruitment limited? Much appretiated. Thanks :)

    I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this Spire Marketing is just another re-branding of the door-to-door crap that comes under the Giraffe/Redstone/Orrick/Majestic headings.

    Don't know why they're allowed to advertise constantly, they're a pain. Don't go near them - waste of time.

    She rang me today making sure I was comming tomorrow. I asked her if there was a customer service role, she avoided the quiestion. At first she was all happy and bubbly, when I asked her if it was a door to door sales company she replies "that's one of the things we do". She put some fluffy marketing crap on it. I told her she should advertise the positions proparly so people will know what they are getting into. She gave me some bull****, and I told her to cancle the appointment as I was after a customer service role, not a fcuking door to door sales role. I told her that door to door sales is not the same as customer service and marketing. It has an element of the both, but they are falsely advertising this job as something else. I hate bastards like that. I mean, it's all the way up in mullingar, what a waste of time money and effort for a job I have no interest in doing.

    well, they sure know how to trick people into it. On the galway advertiser this morning it read in big block capitals 'NEW OFFICE OPENING!!'.

    ...and then it's bloody door to door work. And 'dealing with the entertainment industry'? Come on!

    Hate to piss on your chips but anyone would get an ' interview ' with these wasters -door-to-door selling , cold -calling , commission-only , no expenses ( which is a significant point when they could have flogging rubbish many miles from home ), you do not get employee status but rather get classed as self-employed ( with all the implications for your social welfare entitlements that entails ).
    The only good things you hear about these companies is from the people who run them - ask the poor schmucks who have worked for them and they will tell you to avoid like the plague.

    Do a search on this forum for the horror stories , I echo what others have said that it is a great dis-credit to the likes of jobs.ie that they allow these companies to fill their pages with these garbage ' jobs '.

    Rant over - peace and tranquility restored :)
