Which one is the truth does anybody know?

depends on how often you actually turn up and sign on ...make sure you tell them that you are going on holidays.

if you sign on every week - then theres every chance that you'll not get a payment or two (but will be backdated when its processed)

Ps. wish I could have a holiday !!! (lucky git!!)

I sign on once a month and get paid into my bank account, only reason i am able to afford a holiday is because i gave up smoking a few month ago so with the money im saving i can afford a holiday.

How is it I'm working morning, noon and night and still can't afford a holiday? Not having a go here but it really beggars belief that my business is taking up all my energy and I'm getting nowhere.

With due respect, your business and private affairs are your own. Nobody can be expected to justify your decisions to you, nor are they permitted to cast aspersions on them. I would gladly swap a 60 hour 5 day week for my current unemployed {and maybe unemployable} status. I am jaded just looking for work and contending with conflicting reports on my eligibility for Social Welfare. If you think its a classy racket, think again- it ain't.

Apologies, didn't mean badness by that, I just can't seem to keep my head above water and as someone was quick to point out probably all my own fault.

OP, you are entitled to take 2 weeks holiday per year, as far as i know.go to your dole office and tell them the dates you will be away. they will give you a form to fill out and you will be paid as normal.

    hope this helps
