Ok, the 15th August is almost upon us. The first games of the Premier League! I'm going to put a fiver accum on the opening games so I wanted to post my picks so people here can agree or disagree or give opinions etc. The games are as follows:

    1) Chelsea v Hull (Chelsea)

    2) Aston Villa v Wigan (Draw)

    3) Blackburn v Man City (City)

    4) Bolton v Sunderland (Sunderland)

    5) Everton v Arsenal (Draw)

    6) Portsmouth v Fulham (Draw)

    7) Stoke v Burnley (Draw)

    8) Wolverhampton v West Ham (Wolves)

    9) Man Utd v Birmingham (Man utd)

    10) Tottenham V Liverpool (Liverpool)

There you go. Any tips/ Anyone agree/ disagree, please post your opinions. May be all of us collaberating together can come up with a winning 5 Euro Accumulator!! haha. The odds offered if I accumulated the above selections is a WHOPPING:

6071.87/1 (Six thousand and sevently one Euro and eighty seven cent to one)

Besides the fact that I tend not to go for 10 match accums I will wait till a bit closer to kick off so as to have the relevant team news at my disposal. Good luck with your selections.

A 10 match accumulator would be the biggest I have ever placed. Im just doing it because they are the first matches of the season. I may even lower my stake to a Euro considering the price. Cheers

Nearly upon us? It's a month away! I think i'll wait and see what transfers happen between now and then.

    My picks would be:

    1) Chelsea > (-2.0)might be a good handicap bet
    5) Arsenal
    8) Wolves
    9) Draw
    10) Liverpool

I couldn't even attempt to call the other games, I don't really know that much about the EPL. My only guess is Man U will struggle early this season, Arsenal should go well and Wolves could be the surprise package in the first half of the season (a la Hull City):D

I would agree with you on Chelsea 2-0 and Man Utd struggling early in the season. However, I don't think they will struggle against Birmingham (16/1) but then again you never know.

I'm a Liverpool fan but I do hope Wolves do we'll this season in the Premier League. I would like to see them get second place ;).

Anyways, it may be a month to go until the start of the season but I'll try and keep this thread alive and update my picks as I see fit. A ten team accumulator never really does win but at the odds offered, it's worth 50c even!

Too many draws. I usually do 3/4/5 match accums with strong home teams v weak aways. Generally look for about 7-10/1 and put a tenner on, it works well enough and makes it interesting. If you put draws in you'll always get a big jump in odds but they're just pointless to predict. If I were you I'd drop the draws and just back the winners you've picked (though don't think Wolves will win). You can always pick a few from Europe or the Championship if you want 10 matches and have a better shot.

Premiership accums (4+) are tough to get up.

I stick to 3 or less teams and try to get between 6/1 or more.

Last year I had most luck with asian handicapp on betfair, especially on La Liga matches.

I have won a total of 3 7 team accumulators since I started betting which was approx 2 years ago. They are very hard to hit. It's always one selection which is nearly always the one you EXPECTED wouldn't lose. haha

I done a 7 match accumulator just to get me interested in start of season:

    Chelsea v Hull (Chelsea)

Aston Villa v Wigan (Aston Villa)

    Everton v Arsenal (Draw)

    Portsmouth v Fulham (Fulham)

Wolverhampton v West Ham (West Ham)

Man Utd v Birmingham (Man utd)

    Tottenham V Liverpool (Liverpool)

    ~130/1 on boylesports

I think villa are a cracking price at 4/6.

I think villa are a cracking price at 4/6.

Villa are never a safe bet and 4-6 is short for the first game of the season. They went backwards big-time at the end of last season and with O'Neill's reluctance to buy foreign players they can only get worse. Plus they have lost arguably their best player and captain in Barry (not to mention Laursen).

Stoke @ evens looks like the best single at home to Burnley. They were great at the Brittania last year and Lawrence should be back to full fitness for them now. Though it is the first game and can often throw up funny results but ya Stoke.

Chelsea -1 or -2 might be worth looking at as well.
