So, as I'm sure you have all heard Real Madrid are taking on Shamrock Rovers next Monday 20th July in Tallaght of all places!

I'm posting here wondering if ANYONE will be backing Shamrock Rovers to win the game :). If you're betting on Shamrock Rovers in anway, please post here! Myself, I'll probably throw a token tenner on Shamrock Rovers. ALSO, anyone got any idea what the odds offered will be? Any suggestions or opinions? FYI - I have emailed Paddy Power and they will be offering odds on Wednesday -15th July.

    Cheers!

Not a chance Shams will win man, they'll be playing an team of u21's like they did against Newcastle on Saturday.;)

Leeds to beat Shels is a given tomorrow night, put money on that.;)

Ah, I didn't think Shams would stand a hope but I'm really interested to see the odds offered. Why wouldn't they play there BEST squad against a first time REAL MADRID? I know it's a friendly and all but REAL MADRID are playing a strong team. What about Rovers?

HAHA, I know, I don't understand why they would play their kids against REAL! It would be even funnier if they managed to beat REAL. What a sting for them after there HUGE spend, they cant even beat a reserve LOI team! They are currently favorites to win everything. lol

AFAIK rovers have a league match on Sunday so players will be playing two days in a row. Hence sending out a lot of younger players I imagine. Even though I'm sure everyone would want to play vs Real!

I suppose they dont want to mess up the team. If they played their first squad, they would be wrecked against a team like REAL. Although, after saying that, what will the under 21's be like!

nah no way can they play youth players against real. i know loi clubs generally play weakened teams during summer but thats playing against ****e english clubs(generally loi teams play against english clubs) but this is against the biggest team in the world. i heard real need backup for casilias, surely barry murphy will want to win a move to the bernabeau.:D

Rovers are 2nd in the League atm 6 points behind Bohs, with a match against Sligo on Saturday and then a match against Bohs on the 26th July. No way will Rovers risk being top of the table by playing there first team on Tuesday, on Saturday they played an team of under-agers and lost 3-0 to a strong Newcastle side.
