Yes.. pretty decent HU. Got it a few weeks ago, very handy for streaming music over bluetooth (and all it's other features of course)

    Huge thread about it here

Surprised to see it up so soon again really!
10er cheaper than last time too :(

Rather than start a new thread (although mods - feel free to do so if ye like :)), I've been looking at a new double-DIN sized stereo unit for my 06 Passat.

So a quick search on ebay reveals lots of expensive option, but also a lot of these. Aside from all the features, it looks like it would sit well in the Passat dash too!

Too good to be true? A google search only shows another guy looking for feedback. Any opinions?

    be prepared for:

not too easy to use menus
not matching your interior lighting or plastics
having major hassle if something goes wrong

If you can get past all that then you'll be grand.

    1. I don't find them that hard to use. It seems pretty normal to me. Maybe some of the fancy radios are different these days.

    2. Yeah well that's given for buying any radio. Good idea to look at it before you buy it and consider how it will look in the car.

    3. If the radio breaks just give it back. Lidl have one of the best return policies I've ever used. They have a customer support number you can ring for advice or help with products.

Only gripe I have with mine is that the remote control has to be pointed in the general direction of the radio.

I bought a 16gig memory stick and plug it into the USB port. It plays all my music instead of connecting my mp3 player.

I had one i bought about 3 years ago. was going down the m50 on my own through the roadworks (rails on both side and no hard shoulder), and the radio started smoking/going on fire.I was fairly panicked... luckily i was able to pull it out and disconnect it with one hand, otherwise the whole car would have went up.

best to pick up a fire extinguisher while your at it......

I'm talking about the ebay one that Kaiser mentioned,

should've used quote tags I suppose.

Well that answers that then! :p Don't suppose anyone has a VW RCD 300 (Mp3 version) or RCD 500 they don't want?

Seriously though, I have looked at Pioneer/Kenwood units but I find that either the display colours wouldn't match, or they just look ugly! The other option is to buy a brand-name touchscreen unit but I don't really want to spend a fortune on it either :(

I'd have bought one of those if I didn't buy the sony one I have now. Lots of great feature's on the lidl one. They seem to have a good few car offer's this week, car washer's, electric wheel brush, jack's and axel stand's, boot mat's, and gps's.

The Pioneer one has adjustable colours, and AFAIK matches VW colours perfectly. also a nice looking unit.

I have the bluetooth one for several years and a few cars and it's fine.

Would it be easier to buy an adapter like one of these and fit a single DIN?
