    In fairness, the same could be said of the Garda Reserve. Well maybe not the car part.......

    It would be great to have such a thing but what about the conflict of interest issue,could we see guys jumping on the band wagon here and using this as a way to do whatever they wanted with there shiney badge. <MOD SNIP> a volunteer Ranger recruitment would be great if candidates were selected on a non conflict of interest basis.

    Kinda doubt they would be involved in the sort of Ranger duties we would be thinking of here TD,i bet the Rangers are delighted !!!

    before this goes any further coillte and the npws have noting to do with each other.
    coillte are looking for interested people to guide walkers and look after there interests on there trails .

    i care take on one of there properties its just a matter of stopping dumping keeping gates closed and looking after our country side like we would do any way.

    Hi all

    Just seen this on the coillte website. Seems like a good idea. I wonder could they or a similar volunteer service be used to deter poachers?

    I was just answering this guys post.
