Finding a mechanic to take a look at a car?

Anyone know the best way of finding a mechanic to take a look over a car for you?

I'm interested in a car a dealer is selling out on the long mile road. It's just been NCT'd but I'm well aware that doesn't cover everything so I'd like to get a mechanic to give it the once over for me... any of the mechanics on here work out that way and fancy an hours work?

Otherwise, can anyone recommend a good mechanic out that way? or tell me how to find one?

Just discovered that the AA want to charge €399 for their inspection service :eek:

FFS, that's some rate for what they claim is 3 hours work.

Not sure about Brittas Bay but you should be able to make an appointment with any local garage and drive it over for an inspection?

The car's over on the Long Mile Road in Dublin. Looking for a garage / mechanic who I can either get to collect the car or have the dealer drop it into that'd be local enough there...

For anyone else interested in, Motor Point on the Naas road will do a full mechanical check for about €80.
