    Hey..

    Does anyone know where I could get 1 2nd hand?? 50" - 54" pref...

putting has gotten so bad and even with lessons it ain't working..

Played today in Lucan 88/82 while hitting the ball great..

3 putted way too many times and even 3 4 putted once.. just not holing anything outside 6ft and struggeling with the shorter ones.. The lads I played with where saying they stopped looking at me putting as was hard to bear.. Cost me at least 25 shots today and this was putts of about 8ft and in..

If anyone has one or knows where I can get 1 it would be appreciated..

The last couple of times i've been in Halpenny golf in swords they've had one. Not sure of the exact size, but pretty sure it's a Scotty Cameron.

Please don't do it, OP. Please!!!!

I personally could not bear to watch you make any putts with that monstrosity of a thing. Just get out to your club putting green for a few hours a week and you'll gradually see an improvement. No need for drastic measures now.

I do practise hard and would spend 70% - 80% of my time on my short game and I would challange anyone on the putting green but on the course my putting turns to goo...

Jampot, bit uncanny but a mate of mine gave me a few clubs to stick on ebay for him. One of them is a broomhandle putter... it's a Ping. If you want to have a bash with it on a putting green sometime this week let me know.

Yeah would be great.. As I dunno if one of them is the answer but if it is good enough for a lot of the pro's I am sure it is worth a bash..

    Jampot,

I dont want to overstep the mark here as what you'd score on a bad day is about what I'd score on a good day but I do have experience of being a horrendous putter and managing to do something about it.

If you say that you do putt well on the practice green and practice it hard but it falls apart on the course then it just has to be something mental.

I did 3 things myself, bought a putter I was happy with, got 1 lesson to make sure I was setting up correctly and read Rotellas book 'Putting out of my Mind" - the lesson was really helpful but honestly I learnt at least as much if not more from the book - just very simple things like picking a really specific target and commiting to it.

If you havent tried it already it is worth reading the book, its not at all technical, it sounds like you havent much to lose at the moment anyway ;-)

    Best of luck
    PK

    Hey Patrick...

It is 100% mental and have tried all the above.. Bought the Taylor Made Spider/ have had 2 lessons which have both included putting/ And not only read that book but 3 of them and have the audiobooks Lol...

I am actually about to start a home learning course in Golf Psycology from Kilroy collage as I am really interested in it but for some reason I have a blockage around the short game, My pro has been working on it with me but I do think I need to learn more about it and hopefully find something that suits...

The reason I am looking at the broomhandle is it is something different which means I am kind of starting clean, I have a good putting techniqe on the putting green but on the course I seem to quit on it and I feel I am forcing myself then when I try to fix it.. Believe it or not I do be ****ting it over 1ft putts which is not a nice way to be...

I know exactly how you feel and it's really no fun.
The key for me was the really specific target and practising making 2-3 ft putts until it pretty much became automatic.
I can only wish you the best of luck and hope you come out of it.

    Thanks and so do I.....

Have a lesson on Thursday and will ensure we do at least 30 mins on short putts
