Anyway, I have taken a couple of photos ... what do you guys think ... can I tape it up? ( joking ... )

Everything I have read or been told about Zipps indicates that they are unsuitable as all-weather training wheels on Irish/UK roads, from rim failures to worn bearings caused by water/muck ingress.

I know people tend to only complain on the internet rather than praise, but I don't remember ever reading "my Zipps have been fine in all weathers for the last 5000km".

I presume they are out of warranty; Zipp have a crash replacement policy however where they will sell you a new wheel at a substantial discount (I think it's under half price.)

Yeah junk it, it's a proper crack and as we all know, cracks in carbon are a no-no.

Yep, junk it Caroline I'm afraid. Some people claim to be able to repair carbon (although your one would not be a candidate looking at it), but I certainley wouldn't chance riding a repaired rim.

Ignore Zipps from now on if I was you. I have a set of 404's and I love them but they are just too high maintenance I'm afraid. Might be worth getting the cheap replacement from Zipp and selling them as a pair depending on the cost.
