    Hi all,

Can't really figure between travel/bargain alerts/MMA where to put this but:

Can anyone who has travelled to Bangkok give me a clue where to go for MMA gear (Tapout etc) shopping?... as well as MMA events?

    Cheers,

    C.

are you looking for fight gear or casual stuff? Like tapout t-shirts or fairtex 4oz mma gloves?

Prob more weighted to the casual side - Probably a pair of tapout board shorts and a few t-shirts including silver star/tapout/affliction etc. I doneed to pick up some new training gloves and guards etc too, but I cant see myself lugging them around Thailand in a backack for 4 weeks, with space at a premium.

Anyone any experience buying stuff in Bangkok? I know the stalls have crappy fake muay thai shorts, bu Im lookin for proper brand stuff. Would I be better off ordering from one of the UK sites? Im pricing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt at €100 though :(
Im scouring the net here and cant find any reference to any MMA stores in Bangkok; only a Raja Thai boxing store or something in one of the Muay Thai stadiums.

I got a pair of twins 4 oz mma gloves for less than 30 squid and decent MT shorts for bout 22 quid in the gym I was training in in Phuket so there's a price range to go for - wouldn't be bothered saving the 20/30 quid and as you say lugging them around though. Most people to be honest just buy MMA gloves for the craic as the only actual use I got from them is a couple MMA league fights and some target pad work with mates - if you're in this bracket then just wait till you're back

    enjoy Thailand!

I prob won't buy any equipment while over there, moreso am just lookin to score some ordinarily expensive casual tapout/affliction-ish stuff.

I was around the big department stores in bangkok recently and didnt see anything like that there, there are stalls selling MT shorts, gloves, pads, wraps etc in the MBK center for good prices.

i saw some t-shirts that are like the affliction sytle shirt in some places but they are not the same, different names. maybe if you try the bjj/mma clubs they might have something, bjj bkk had some t-shirts but they are club shirts not really what you are looking for

while bjj is growing in thailand, mma didnt strike me as being to big, with all the MT there they probably dont see the distinction or something,
