    lookin for some advice
has anybody ever used those shipping containers to permanently store a classic car. they come in 20ft 40ft and 45ft
would american cars fit into them 40ft containers.

my other option is a steel structure garage without planning permission have any of you guys built them. they seem very expensive around 10k+ for a 20 x 40ft. also would you need the fully insulated type for classic cars.

i am just wondering how you guys are putting your cars in storage
i also found out you can get planning permission for a 60m2 garage max size i assume you could only fit one car in thies garages.

Whatever you do, don't use a steel container for car storage, temp and humidity changes will result in lots of surface condensation on the inside of the container. Probably the worst form of storage long term, unless you can run a dehumidifier to it.

A 60m2 garge will fit 4 cars with no room to work around them. You can build a 25m2 shed in most places which will fit a car, 2 in an emergency.

You could also try one of those 'car cocoons'. I know someone in Germany who has been using 3 of them under a car port for a few years now and he is very happy with them. They exist as indoor and outdoor models.

I'm using a 20ft container to store my classic, i have a dehumifider in there so moisture isnt a problem, its plenty long at 20ft, but at 8ft wide its tight, i have to park mine close to one wall, which leaves me enough room to get out other side. They are cheap enough, about 1000 euro, but you have to add transport onto that, and also make sure that there is enough room for the truck to get in.

I got mine from calnan containers, who also fitted it out with lights and power points, with a connection on the outside to run power to it.
