Don't like him, don't rate him. Can't understand the hype and in fact think he looks ridiculous doing that crap. Just my opinion though so no need to get excited:D

Was looking forward to that, not as good as "magnum" though

    Epic. What a hero.

I'm always waitin with bated breath for them to show him doin the spin point, but I think it's intentionally not shown! Like it's a cult thing for fans at the events. Im always listenin for the little cheer that goes with it when he's introducin the fighter and they have a wide crowd shot on!

i knew that would look ridiculous hahaha, ah what a 1 time thing, won't be seeing it again. Man is a legend!!!!

thanks for the vid, watching the fight, i was waiting for the camera to turn to him but never did!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

Silly or not , goes to show the guy is a good sport and gives the fans what they want. Classy guy imo.

The video has been removed but I aint a fan of BB, he's slightly better than that scrotum who works for cage rage.

Nobody touches the Buffer, the real Buffer - Michael.

Funny but just because its so ****e!

Michael Buffer is 100 times better than his bro, more class and a better voice-Bruce is just cringe worthy, even though he is a nice guy.

Did you ever hear the expression 'self praise is no praise' :D

it just looked silly, as does his ring announcements - to me half the 'buffer love' he gets is tongue in cheek as his work is so cheesy. he seems like a really nice guy etc but there is a reason that the ufc try to keep the camera off the guy when he is shouting in a fighters face during intrductions & his little buffer shuffle

to each their own, i never liked his shtick. nowhere near as embarassing as the banshee from pride/k1 but give me the likes of lennon jr. any day of the week - a little less carny an little more class for me

Not sure what you expect of a ring announcer tbh... He reads out the names, and gives us a bit of a giggle while doing so.

as i alreasy said, a little lesas carny and a little more class - buffer seems like a gunuinelt nice guy in internview and his new radio show on sherdog kind-of confirms his nice guy status butfor me a ring announcer should bring a certain gravitas to a fight but not try put himself over

Hey hey hey now. Whatever ablout buffer but dont be insulting Lenne Hardt.

If the rule of fighter bashjiong and personal insults extend to ring announcers i cant share my opinion on the banshees wailing as i would be banned from the internet itself

Ah now Lenne Hardt is a different story all together, she is totally right for the gig in the land of all things crazy and over the top in MMA , i still get a kick out of her intro's .

lol at this one "from Russia with love" :D

There should be no buffer bashing. The guys a legend. As for the 360 tough i think he should stick to the 180.
Seen him in Belfast and Dublin and i thought he was hilarious.

Buffer is alot better live than on tv, really gets the crowd going, and the camera is never on him at the right moment

I mett Buffer the night before UFC 100 and I told him I came all the way from Ireland to see the Buffer 360. He said thanks and that he did not want to let me down but it would depend on the energy he got from the crowd on the night. I went crazy when he did it. :D

what does buffer do when he's not at the ufc? does he do local boxing/mma events? does he do those voice overs for elevators or voice mails?

    He should record satnav instructions.

He's the head of Buffer Enterprises and manages his half-brother Michael. He pretty much spends most of his time looking to make more money out of the "let's get ready to rumble" phrase, which he does incredibly well. He's a semi-pro poker player as well
