Dublin Vs Kildare Post Match

Well done to Dublin, they showed how and when a hand passing can be used to great effect by slicing through the Kildare midfield when breaking out with the ball.
I thought Dublin’s defence were excellent, although they conceded 18 scores. Kildare were able to build off great midfield position but when they came into the final third they had the likes of David Henry, Barry Cahill (always so comfortable in possession), Bryan Cullen and Bastick to contend with. They showed wonderful athleticism and strength especially when confronted by two or more Kildare blockers when emerging with the ball, even when they were on the ground under pressure they always seemed to be able to find a teammate in space. You can’t buy that sort of Fight.

The forwards of course played their part too, I never though Bernard Brogan was all that adept and kicking scores from play, and was basically a watered down version of his brother but it seems he is maturing nicely and growing onto it more, perhaps (shooting wise) reminiscent of a young Jason Sherlock, who in his younger days couldn’t hit a barn door with a shovel (Unless he was shooting for goal).

The Dublin players seemed more capable if not more eager to put their bodies on the line and moved the ball faster, its hard to know how to get this out of players when they need it most but somehow Gilroy and Mickey Whelan manage to summon this from the players at half time.

Kildare’s style of play looked laboured in the second half.
Perhaps McGeeney favoured the more physical player when building this team and a few more natural forwards were required when Kildare had players in time and space out on the Cusack stand side of the field when attacking Hill16, this however would have been to the detriment of winning position out the field.

Ger Brennan is a disgrace, he did the same against Meath clearly punching Brian Meade (of Meath) in the face (running after him and Swinging a punch), right in front of the linesman who bottled the decision of getting him sent off.
    Lengthy ban hopefully.
    Failed to load the poll.
