Specialized Rockhopper Pro or Trek 6700

Hi i've a claud butler pagan at the moment and am looking to upgrade it (cycle to work scheme introduced in work). I called into my local bike shop to see what he had and there were two bikes there that im thinking of. A specialised rockhopper pro or a trek 6700. i was looking at the two models below that, rockhopper disc vs 6500, and ended up with the rockhopper, and am happy out with the decision. friend bought the 6700 and is only getting it this week, but he has done a lot more mountain biking than me and reckons not a lot between them
