Had the Lions won the tour? Where would the major celebrations take place? Would there be a big open bus thing of dublin/london/cardiff/edidburgh? can't remember back to 1997

No. We would have won it and that would have been it.

Excuse my ignorance, but Lions tour means fu*k all....there would have been no celebration over here, just like there's none over there...It's like Barbarians v whoever challenge match...all that's at stake is pride until the next meeting, but at the end of the day, not many fans take much interest and it doesn't mean anyrthing, except to the players perhaps, but fans who claim to be lions fans wont really give 2 fu*ks about this series in 2 years time if their nation is in a grand slam decider or club / province is in a Heineken Cup decider and you ask them what their prefernce is and who the biggest team is, you'll soon find out that Lions tour is a money spinning meaningless competition that some people get dragged into due to hyperbowl hype. Not me, and I've been slated for it enough...but by the same individuals who wont give 2 fu*ks about this tour in 6 months.

Well firstly world poverty would have ended, then the recession and finally everyone in Ireland (not Scotland, Wales or England) would immediately recieve 10k.
Makes you kinda hate the south Africans:D

no open top bus tour, no chance.
there would be less people questioning should we be having lions tours.
the players would have a bigger profile and start doing more ads and things like that
ian mcgeechan would never be allowed back into south africa either!

Peter De Villiers would "mysteriously" disappear.

Before disappearing, PdV would be forced to go to the local opticians, and get his eyes "tested" by Schalk Burger.
