A rental car would be required to explore that area. Anyhoo, you could look at Girona(the old town/cathedral), Perpignan(the old town, centred on Place De La Republique), the Dali museum in Figueres, Cadaques(for more art history), any of the coastal resorts, Begur(in the heart of the Costa Brava), a trip into the Pyrenees(Ripoll, Ribes De Freser, Puigcerda, Llivia). That should keep ya going:)
