Forget the rivalry between Tyson Gay and Bolt..... Kirani James of Grenada is the next big thing.
The 15 yr old ran 45.24 to win the World Youths. he is also set to run the final of the 200m as he won his heat in 21.23. Unreal!

I thought you might have been referring to Simeon Williamson's 10.06 into a -1.8 wind an hour ago.

    Hypeworthy?

He moved to fifth on the all-time youth 400m list. The four ahead of him: Obea Moore, Riann Dempers, William Reed and Nagmeldin Abubakr.

How many senior medals have they won between them at senior level?

The first three set their lifetime bests as youths. The fourth set his lifetime pb at age 19. He looks to me like an early maturer. Bolt at 15 was a raw skinny talent. He took a while to mature and didn't he do it nicely. James looks nearly fully mature at nearly 17. (not 15)

Still, 45.24 is astonishing running for one so young, but it doesn't necessarily mean he will become the top senior in time.

I think they said on the beeb aswell that a British 14 year old ran 47 at the World Youths, fastest ever for a 14 year old Britton.

I think it was the junior schools' 400m winner who clocked 48.86 today. That was an age 14 record.

The one bolt needs to watch out for is Yohan Blake. That is from Coach Mills's mouth. The kid is incredible. Had the pleasure of watching him train and race in London 2 years ago. 9.96 in Rome Friday night and this is only his first year with Mills. Watch this space

We had a pretty nifty 14/15 year old too, 47.20 in Curtis Woods. What a loss to our sport.

Yeah tell me about it but football was always his first choice. Wish him luck though if they maintain Premier staus with such a small team he could be in the first team in a couple of years
