I use AseeDsee to manage my digital photo collection, and have attached notes and keywords to most of my photos.
If I later change to Photoshop Elements or some other programme, will I lose all these notes, keywords, etc. Is there some way of adding notes that will be accessable regardless of which photo management programme I am using ?

the only way i know of that will transfer through any program is to have comments and keywords in the exif info.

I dont use ACDSee my self but I imagine that what is happening is that when you use it to add keywords, captions and other metadata to your photos it stores this information in its own database, rather than writing it directly to the exif data fields in the original image file, (this is also the default behavior in Lightroom which I use). You need to tell the software to do this for you eirher by changing the default behavior or by selecting some photos and trying to find a command in the right click menu or one of the program menus (in Lightroom its "save metadata to file", via the right click menu).
