Thomas Dolby Interview

I'm back like a bad smell. I expect to talk with Thomas Dolby soon. If you have some questions to ask the man, PM me and I'll pick a selection to put to him. I will only consider questions sent by PM. Please don't post questions in the forum as they will not be considered for inclusion. You won't be credited for the question, but you will get the chance to quiz a legend. The responses will be made available in a month or two.

Mods - as far as I can see, I'm doing nothing contrary to the charter by requesting the questions via PM. Let me know if I'm breaking rules.

Nice! He's a cool guy. Did you see his gig in Whelan's?

Thomas is one of my all time faves. I follow him on Twitter !

I have my pre order in for the Re-Mastered Golden Age of Wireless on iTunes due any day now.

Most 'cutting edge' sounding music becomes linked to the time it appears and ages very badly for that. Mr. D miraculously managed to avoid that trap all his career. Europa and the Pirate Twins could appear today sounding as it does.

In the 90s I worked for a Band called That Petrol Emotion who shared Management with Thomas. He used to store all his old tackle in a rehearsal room in London.
As I nixer we were asked to relocate all the gear..... including the Mk1 (I think) Fairlight used on 'Dissidents' and a heap of other synths .... very cool.
(That same day Leo Sayer was packing a van outside too, v. strange !)

I don't really have any questions for him though, except perhaps are Andy and Nancy still managing him and if so, 'Hello' to them ...

Thomas Dolby is a genius. Should be required listening for anyone interested in electronic music. Did you know he played keyboards on Foreigner 4, "Waiting for a girl like you" etc.

Hi Paul, I got the remaster CDs yesterday, they're great. Why didn't you take pics of all that gear for me?!?! ;)
