i recently bought a charger for my ipod that charges it using the cigarette lighter in the car. it was only 2 euro in the local euro shop, just wondering do you think its safe to use or could it possibly do something bad to the ipod??

I presume it has to adhere to some sort of safety standard, in saying that for 2 Euro I wouldn't risk damaging my phone, best case it charges fine and falls apart after a few weeks, worst case it will overcharge you battery by not having an internal cut off when full charge is reached and prematurely shorten the life of the battery.

Branded ones are available for around €15 on Ebay get one of those.
