Which ball do you use?

    Howdy,

Was just wondering what balls people are favouring at the moment?

I was always a Pro-V man myself, but last week I found a (brand new) Taylor Made TP Black and used it on Wednesday.

I was very impressed, found it to be as responsive as a Pro-V in every way but not a cut or scuff on it at all after 18 holes.

Usually my Pro-V would have a few marks and scuffs and I'm normally only getting 2-3 rounds out of one, but the TP looks like it might hold out much better.

Any opinions??Any of you out there found any good little gems that we might not know about?Any that are totally over-rated in your opinion?Any you love/hate or otherwise?

I was gonna stick a poll on this but there are so many balls out there I just didn't bother, mods feel free;)

Love the Pro V1,also tried the Taylormade black a couple of weeks ago but it felt like a rock and not for me.

I prefer Pro-v 's as there softer and have more feel in them

The taylor made have two different kinds Tp Red and Black one of them is harder than the other but i cant remember

I also like some of the Nike's and Callaways - Im not to fussy generally depending on the competition

Pro V1x. Bought a dozen of the Taylor Made TP Red recently but they cut up something unbelievable

not at the "balls make the difference" stage yet(hopefully),but cheapo Topflight XLT's for me

Pro V1's in the summer and Pro V1x's in the winter (serious competitions only). The ball I like to use if i'm just out knocking around or if its really bad conditions are Callaway Warbirds. Very Cheep and i can still get some spin with them. Having said that I spun an ultra back the other day, the groves on the Spin Milled Vokeys could make an actual rock spin back I think!

Prov1-x for me. Lucky to get a round out of one though because the wedges eat them.

Cut up worse than the old ones in my opinion. Wouldn't mind trying the new srixons, heard good things about them.

I have been using Pro V1s, but recently started using some Srixons too. I started using a Srixon Trispeed, and then the Z Star. They are very similar to the Pro V1s.

Can't beat the ProV1's, expensive though!!
Been using the Srixon AD333's, and I have to say I really like them. 28 lids for a dozen in the shops.
Nice soft feel from them, unlike the likes of the Call Warbird, which I used for a few holes last week - they feel like hitting marbles!!
Having said that, the way I'm playing lately, the ball isn't going to make much difference! ;)

Titleist Pro V1's here (wasted on me though).

If I was buying them I think I might downgrade as they are too dear to lose!

Pro V1's here also. My wedges take lumps out of them too.

    Al.

used to use the Srixon all the time then changed to Pro v1 when my game got better. I dont really see or feel a huge difference so I would happily play with either. Have never tried Callaway or the likes so cant comment on them

I've found the nike one platinum is as close to the prov1 as makes no difference to my game. Spins very nicely, maybe a little soft. Can usually be got under special offer somewhere.

Prov 1 during the summer but if havin a shocker and losing balls its Ultras cause sure you`ll never lose an Ultra but you`ll never birdie one either. During the winter anything except a yellow one:p

I play with the taylor made black. They have a nice feel to them around the greens.
    I just like them really.

Everytime I run out of balls I buy a different box to see how they are:

Balls that I like playing with:

    Wilson DX2
    TM Burner LDP
Bridgestone 330 (I think thats the ones, yellow box in anyway)
    Pro V1x
    Pro V1
    Callaway Warbird
    Nike One

I find that the ball makes no difference to me at the moment but its good to try them out.

    Warbirds are pure ROCKS:eek:

    Don't go near them.

    Callaway Warbird
    Warbirds are pure ROCKSeek.gif

    Don't go near them

I disagree, been using them for 2 months now and can't speak highly enough about them.

Srixon AD333 are a nice ball with a soft feel and don't cut up too much. Not quite the braking power of Pro V1s but I think you get used to how a ball behaves and adjust your shots accordingly.

Are ya getting them from the tour van or something?!

ProV's for me too. Usually get a stash of 36/48 them each summer and usually only have to buy 3's every now and again. Tried the Callaway tour ix last year and actually quite like them but I dont think they are as consistant as the ProVs. They cut up awful easily. Got the TP blacks too but still have 9 of them left. Dont like them at all.

i recently got a present of some callaway tour ix and i found them really responsive around the greens, but having been a fan of pro v's for a long time i tend to resort back to them

I'll take those TP blacks off your hands and give them a good home.:pac:

Changed from Titeilst NXT to Pro V1 abount 3 months ago. The change has caused a significant improvment to my short game, particulary my putting. I'll not be going back. Swear by them now.

Anything will do for me. Can't yet tell/find the difference between any ball.

Keeping it in play is my goal.

Titleist Pro V1's - super ball imo.

I had been using the HX Tour ball for the last number of years. I played with my first IX, as the HX is out of production now, last week. The ball is a bit more responsive around the green, and from 100 yards in, but it cuts up far too easily. I may have to start looking at my options, as I don't particularly like the Pro V1's.

I use the Nike distance balls at the moment and they are great for me at the moment.

    Had tried these but...

    Wilson DX2
    TM Burner Red/Black
    Pro V1x
    Callaway Warbird
    Nike One

I think you try and mixed it up and see what works best for you. Havent tried the Pro V1 balls...too expensive.
