    Hi Folks

Dont know alot about tyres just changed my michlien tyres recently 175/65 14, so I went to a place and he guy said sorry we don have them in stock at the moment bu we have continental so fair enough I said, anyway to cut along story short when I went to pick up the car he wasnt around day of I presume, but when I checked the invoice he had put 4 barum brillantis on, so I asked the guy and he said that they are still a good tyre but cheaper obviously than he rest, he said they only had one coninental left in stock. I basically just want to know are these barum any good like road handling durability and winter conditions and how many kiloms can i get out of them. I was just pissed off that he didnt tell me about the continentals no in stock and jus sticking four lesser known tyres on.

Any insight of advice on these tyres would be greatly appreciated

    Many thanks

I dont like cheaper tyres myself, I love dunlops, i have always used them.
Your old tyres will probably have been disposed off by now so maybe you are stuck with the new ones.

Barum have an anecdotal reputation as an economy tyre.

Other than that I can't offer you advice on the levels of grip etc.

Barums are an economy tyre, i think this boils down to the second guy assuming that you wanted the cheapest. Tyre places tend to get that all the time and so in the end get a surprise when somebody actually wants a decent tyre.
I would be inclined to go back and insist on what you ordered, obviously you will have to pay the difference in cost. The other problem is they wont want to do this as you have driven on the tyres and are now second hand, if their customer service is up to scratch however you should be ok.
