    Alright lads,

Lookin for a bit of advice. I currently commute on a bike, have my full license for that and use it for most of my transport needs. I'm thinking of getting a car for extra room and passenger carrying ability. I don't have the option really of having a fully licensed driver with me in the car or the money for a car + prov. license insurance, so I wanna get a good few lessons under my belt, take the test on an instructors car and hopefully pass. Has anyone done something like this? and are there any instructors in D15 that are well recommended?

    Cheers :pac:

    You could do this.

I don't know any instructors in D15, but I do work there, so I will ask at work tomorrow, and see what I can find out.

Have you driven a car before?

Riding a bike gives you good 'road cop-on' and this will help, but you will have to get used to a car.
It is very different to a bike.

The blue book(independent directory i think)has a list im sure.
Then i know we had a local newsletter where there where adverts for instructors in that.
Then of course there's loads in finglas with it being a testing area(all i can say there is DO NO use airport).

After that it seems to all be word of mouth or as a poster said what other people have used before.

Also try asking in the Dublin 15 section

    Moved from Motors.
Keep in mind the Learning to Drives charter, as suggestions for driving schools, instructors can only be given over PM. There is a sticky for this, but i'm prepared to leave this as it's own thread as it goes back a couple of days.
