I gather something is being implemented on August 1st which is going to affect all Medical Card holders, unfortunately I know next to nothing about this scheme, would anyone care to enlighten me and what I'm sure is many other readers of this forum also?

    Thanks!

Yes, Most all the Prarmacists have resigned from the scheme...

Nothing has (as yet) been put in place, a lot of discussion in the "Long Term Illness" forum

The HSE will have in place procedures to allow GMS card holders to collect medicines either from local hospital, health board or their doctor.

I suspect the minimum of disruption will apply.

For private scripts this will result in a major cost saving as the markup will not apply
