The lack of punctuation makes it impossible to figure out what you're asking.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, but I really haven't a clue what you're asking here.

    Sorry guys

Ill try explain better, I bought 7545 shares in aib at 1.06 and i got charged 131 euro on commision for them to buy for me as this was a once off buy for me sdrt was 80 euro

Last week i decided to sell my aib shares and i got 1.61 a share this time when i received cert it showed commission of 201 euro

I am a novice at shares and bought on advice from friend but i thought that there was a set rate of 100 euro per transaction for commission

I have to presume that the commission works on price of shares so i was just asking for explanation of how the commissions work

No its either a set rate or a percentage of the total value of the deal whichever is higher. it might be like 2% of the sale price which would make sense in looking at what you were charged. Im surprised your dealer didn't tell you how much the commission was though, always ask how much and try to haggle it down.

    Builder,
Looks like u are getting charged 1.65% commission to do a trade. Then you pay other charges on top of this like stamp when you are buying only. Just so you understand, you pay 1.65% commission of the total trade value. Trade value is simply the number of shares 7545 multiplied by the price 1.06 (or 1.61 when you were selling). This is a very high rate to be paying to trade..U should shop around..The crowd I use would have done the same trade for about 35 euro saving you 300 euros..

Don't buy Irish bank shares on the advice of friends imo.
