quarantine or delete?

I'm using avira anti virus, every time it finds something it gives me a range of options, Quarantine - delete - repair - move - something else What should I be doing, whats the difference?

Quarantine.

Not unknown for it to be a false positive.

Norton was listing a Windows System file as a virus at one time due to a faulty update.

Kaspersky did the same on our systems with a HP Printer file.

Deleting it caused systems to crash.

Virus will do no harm in quarantine.
