USI Demo Against Re-introduction of College Fees

USI's demonstration against the re-introduction of Third Level fees outside Dail Eireann this week - on Wednesday (July 8) was a great success.

Minister Batt O'Keefe failed to consult the students of Ireland before presenting his Third Level funding report to the Cabinet earlier this week.

So, we needed to teach him a lesson on the dire consequences of re-introducing college fees.

Proposals to imposes a deferred-loan sysytem on students ajd a tax on graduates by the Minister of Education and Science just will not work. They will only make Third Level educatin inaccessible to the disadvantaged of our society.

These systems will encourage emigration among graduates and discourage them from starting a family.

Angry members of the USI voiced their strong opposition at the demonstration on Wednesday (July 8).

This event is part of USI's nationwide campaign which is sending a clear message to Minister O’Keefe: Students will not stand for the re-introduction of third level fees - in any shape or form.

Support the USI and say NO TO FEES!!!
