Must be from the break up of an eastern European country? USSR or Czechoslovakia or similar? Don't know who though.

Is it Alfredo Di Stefano? Though I thought he only played for 2 countries, Spain and Colombia?

I'll be annoyed if its someone who played for Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, and either Serbia or Montenegro.

Shenanigans on the yugoslav players, there's probably a load of them. And they're not really different countries.

    Dejan Stanković is another one.

If we're going to get technical Kanchelskis is right with USSR, CIS and Russia along with an awful lot of other players.

I presume Di Stefano was the answer OP had in mind?
