    Hi all,

Looking for ideas for a 2 night stay outside Venice at the end of our holiday - we are flying from Treviso approx 11am Monday morning - so decided that getting from Venice might be too much hassle for us (2 adults, 1 5 year old).

So looking for any recommendations for a place to stay which is:
    - Train ride away from Venice (for day trip)
    - Driving distance from Treviso Airport (we will have a rental car)

    Thanks in advance!
    Keith.

verona where Romeo and Juliet is set is an approx 1 hr 15min drive from treviso, Padova is slightly closer, Vicenza is about the same distance

Verona is a short enough trip from Venice and nice - a bit past that is Lake Garda - supposedly worth seeing.

Verona could be a little out of the way - thinking of staying in Marghera which is on the mainland - day trip to Venice - then trip to Aqualandia for the day on the Sunday - it's a water theme park

Mestre is very handy if you want to day trip in and out of Venice - not much to it but prices are decent and busses/trains very regular ( about every 2 mins to venice and 1 yoyo ).
From there its also easy to get to any of the other main towns as a multitude of trains pass through it.

It also has the Ryanair bus for treviso which will get you to the airport on the Monday morning.

theres not alot to Padova but its close.
