Driving from Cork to Dublin on Fri 10th July - how do I avoid Oxegen?

I have to go on Friday & I have to drive. I won't be able to leave Cork before 4pm. Should I go via Waterford & Carlow? But that will just bring me out at Newbridge & land me in the middle of the Oxegen fiasco again, won't it? Anybody got any other suggestions?

Similar question for coming back on Sunday, but I'm hoping that I'll be doing that midday / mid-afternoon when presumably they'll all still be at the concert & not on the road.

    Thanks.

Should be OK in the Dublin direction I'd've thought.

Its generally relatively OK going Dublin bound, because you've just got to contend with the traffic coming from the south west, rather than the traffic coming from Dublin itself, the west/north west and the north (and the airport, ferry port, etc, etc) which is coming the opposite direction! Either way, a lot of the traffic is already done - a sizeable proportion of the campers are in tonight too.

Sunday afternoon the traffic will be light still - it doesn't end till later.

Thanks guys. I was worried that traffic coming from the south would be heavy because of people who were only heading there from lunch time tomorrow. Hopefully not then!

In my experience about half the people at Oxegen are Nordies, then take into account the dubs and there won't be that many heading up the N/M7.
