    Hey guys

    Can anyone advise whether the following laptop represents good value?

    It seems to have a lot of the features I'm looking for, however I'm paricularly interested in whether the display is of a high standard on this laptop, does anyone know if it is? Are the features on it worthwhile or is there a cheaper option available?

    No such thing as a high quality display on a laptop. That one looks good enough though, decent spec for a good price.

    Screen is probably as generic as the next laptops. That cineclear thing is probbaly something along the lines of a matt finish for the screen meaning it wont be as shiny as a stock coating.

    Sorry can I ask something else? How does it work with the new Windows 7 o/s that will be released later this year? Is it true that any laptop bought now with Vista can upgrade to Windows 7 for free once its released?

    No I believe that is a deal certain manufactorers will have with certain versions of Vista. EG home premium to 7 home premium. I wouldn't be able to tell you off the top of my head if the deal will count for that.

    I can say that it will run windows 7 like a dream. The OS is very well built and providing they dont fill it with crap for its release it should run very well on that machine.

    I dont want to hijack the thread or anything, but can I ask a general question about Acer laptops?

    How is their interface in general? Are the keys / touchpads etc of a high standard?

    The only laptops I know that have good keyboards on all of their range would be lenovo. But they are slipping now since they left IBM. Acer would be as good as the next, it all depends on the laptop you are getting. Quality varies between model and sometimes even build date.
