I often wonder why people buy gloves in rugby I find you can either catch or you can't- gloves don't make much difference.

I usually buy mine in Elvery's.

Rugby gloves makes a huge difference and I don't buy it too catch the ball. It is a confidence booster, helps me to control ball better with one hand and keeps hands warm on a cold night.

They can make a massive difference for my lineout throw, particularly when the ball is wet & mucky (and we're not posh enough to have a towel on the sideline).

Depends on your position, but I'd imagine hooker and scrum half would be the top positions in terms of usefullness of gloves.

Not sure what type you bought but when the ball is wet or it rains my gloves become "sticky" to get better grip on ball.

Trojan has also just explained how it helps him when the ball is wet.

Kooga ones and that's why I thought but the two games I played wearing them when it was raining I ended up taking them off both times and my handling was much better without them!

I actually dont play rugby myself, I use them for hurling when its raining but mostly only wear it on the left hand(catching hand). So would anyone know a sports hop that still stocks these please?
