My client a multinational company is looking for dynamic and talented individuals to work in their flagship office in Dublin 1. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates with great career potential.

These are hands on customer facing roles and the right candidates will have extensive knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, with a good understanding of hygiene management. Any PL/SQL or T-SQL would be a bonus. Atleast 5 years in a similar role.

True!, a friend forward a job spec to me yesterday, originating from
    The Panel
, and it contains the following bolded at the bottom of the email
If you feel you have the necessary skill set for this particular role please respond by email. Due to the large volume of applications that we receive, we will only contact those candidates with relevant experience.

    nice :(

No need for that to be honest.

I think I will be going into parnell street tomorrow, I have nothing to lose, although, 11-2 seems a bit short. Are they not expecting that many people or something?

I bet there will be hundreds of people going in...

Think should we go in formal dress or casual?

Yea this is normally an open day, you just bring along a copy of your CV and proof you're allowed to work in the country, passport usually. you can tell in the first few mins whether people will last in this industry or not, interviews usually last about 10 mins, if they're really interested in you, they will last a bit longer........any tips required, just ask... i work in this industry....corporate.......

ha ha, i don't work for KFC. it is not formal, but be seen to make an effort, you'd be surprised at what some people wear. no track suits allowed, just look a bit smart, and Clean Fingernails!!!:D they will be looking for enthuasiasm, good personality, well able to get on with people, will ask about where you see yourself in a few years time, this may sound cliche but this is where you sell yourself.......and where you see yourself should relate to the position you are applying for!!:)

and do not come across as desperate. there's alot of people now trying to get into the food industry as they see this as security.......peoples still have to eat at the end of the day. but it's still not recession proof......there are alot of cost cutting measures been done at the moment.......

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,222 ✭✭✭robbie_998

im not really worrying too much

i only started getting jobs since the recession started ! :D

before the recession i couldnt get anything at all

where will i be in a few years ? easy start out as a slave for the likes of KFC and work up that poxy career ladder to management ! easy ;)

I was thinking of wearing either a white shirt dress (pretty formal one, not a scanger-ish one!) with black trousers and small heels, or with jeans and small heels or flats.

    Which should I go for?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 ThePlank

Oh and Robbie, if I see a guy in a pink shirt and jeans, I'll shout "OMG it's the guy from the internet" :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,222 ✭✭✭robbie_998

i may work in next ladies wear but im not good at advice :D

lets hope there'll be loads of people in a pink shirt and jeans :p

That was mental. I got there at quarter past 10, there were about 20-30 people there. We were given forms to fill out and then a couple people who wrote fast were interviewed. Then, a LOAD of other people came in, so they gave us all forms to fill out, then sent us home after taking the forms, saying there were too many people there and they'd call any successful applicants. They did all that without reading any applications, so they must not have expected such a response. Quite annoyed at it really.

NO WAY, talk about unprepared........hope ya brought along a CV also just in case!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,222 ✭✭✭robbie_998

i was there at exactly 11 and they stopped taking applications and just told people to write down their name, number and part time or full time !

hopefully they were only looking for Irish staff cos there were only a small few irish there ... including me

I left at 11, they took my application form thank god.
