Hey I'm on the brink of heading to London/Barcelona or somewhere close by enough to get some cool clothes- I'm getting a bit sick of the limited selection we have in this country outside of Topshop, RiverIsland etc. which are great sometimes, but pricey. Would just love if we had more individual shops and labels to choose from ya know? I know in some towns you get one good interesting shop but it's not enough to make a special trip someplace cause of one shop!!
So what would ye advise? London? Have never been, and I'd be afraid they sell a lot of the same brands we have here from what a couple of people have told me. Would Barcelona be better or any other ideas?
    Thankies :)

Prague is good. They have all the usual H&M, Zara, etc., then they still have C&A/Clockhouse (I think - might be worth Googling) and lots of great vintage and second hand shops and funky boutiques where you can pick up unusual things. The last time I was there I spent about 1300 Euro. That was four years ago and I still wear some of the stuff I bought.

    London?

    http://www.uniqlo.co.uk/ (Not in Ireland)
http://store.americanapparel.eu/ (Should be here by now, taking the piss)
http://www.allsaints.com/ (Irish store much dearer/well behind)

And be sure to visit Camden to find something you will never bump into somebody else wearing in Dublin. Uniqlo is brilliant, very reasonable prices and nice classic clothes.

Thanks everyone.. looking like london at the mo. I thought Berlin was quite good when I went there last year but I did so so much walking I couldn't face it again! Got a great winter coat there though for 100 euro which would have cost twice as much here at the time.

Before I rule it out has anyone any experiences of Barcelona for shopping? Crazy hot over there right now which is making me swing more and more to london!!

Go to London! It's got a lot of the shops here but way way better and bigger! And there's loads that's not here. And it's HUGE! And take me with you!

I'm just back from Barcelona and while I didn't do a huge amount of shopping, I didn't think there was much really. The usual Zara and Bershka on every corner and a few Topshops. Harem pants are very popular over there so that's what a lot of other shops were selling. There were a few smaller shops around but the clothes weren't great. London has a lot more choice.

Oh and it's bloody hot in Barcelona. I loved it! :D

Hea what about DV8, they are now in dublin and i think they are irish owned. They do their own brand which is really cheap plus Villa, Vera Moda and loads others.

Check out thier stuff on http://www.icandy.ie/OpenSearchResult.aspx?&Category=&Description=dv8&Keyword=dv8&Size=&PriceFrom=&priceTo=&Location=

I second London, the stores are bigger with lots more stock than they have here. The Topshop is huge with loads of different labels that aren't Topshop so you get lots of variety in the store, the Primark store is huge too, they have so much stuff there that I haven't seen in stores here. London is such a fashioanle place and the stores have to reflect that so the stock is usualy better than you'll get anywhere so its definityly worth a visit

Just back from barcelona too, nover considered it a great shopping city and yes very overpriced. Have been to Liverpool a few times, quieter than London, 35 min flight and you could go for one day and shop shop shop. brilliant Primark, five storys.

Flight leaves 8 in morn and returns at 9.30 that night.
