    Hi
A friend of mine gave me two books of ProTools official courseware complete with a CD full sessions to work on. The only problem is that I have ProTools 6.7 and the book is ProTools 7.

What I need is someone to convert from .ptf to a .pts so I can open them.

I have heard of a program from called EDL convert but it is out of my price range.

    Can anyone help?

As far as I know you can't open version 7 files on version 6.9.
Do you have access to a system running 7.0 or greater? If you do use it to open these files and then save them as a 6.9 file and bring em home with you.
(this can be done using the save copy option under "file")

Or else you can try to import the WAV files contained in the file into a new 6.9 session, provided they all start in the same place.

Did you try simply renaming the extension, .ptf to .pts?

That works for opening 7+ in 5.1 as far as I remember.

I've tried that before and its not the best, can corrupt the file
