Car Assessor that haggles as well

Following on from FatboyPee's thread, I am also in the market for a car aroung the 1k mark, small engine for tax/insurance purposes. I wont even consider a car without a new or nearly new NCT and would also get it assessed.
I was thinking along the line of fiesta, polo, golf, cordoba, etc

By its nature (Population Density) Dublin has a much bigger choice. (I'm in Cork)
When I bought cars in the UK, I found a guy over there, who not only would assess a car but would also haggle the price on your behalf. A lot of people are not comfortable haggling, myself included.

So, is there anyone out there doing this service, and if not, I think there is a big opening for it! :D

Alternatively, can someone recommend a good assessor?

If your only spending 1k your better off taking it to the local garage to give it a once over , haggle yourself , their is loads of sellers out there open to offers.

How much would you be willing to pay for that service? If you're looking at cars at the 1K mark, he would either have to be extremely cheap if you ended up looking at 2 or 3 cars, or you would be adding to your budget considerably. If you want to keep the costs down, then you need to rule out the lemons yourself first, and then get an expert in.
