Got a Griffin case that came with an armstrap. Cost about €18 in Carphone Warehouse

+1 for the griffin arm strap, I got one on Ebay, I use it in the gym all the time and it stays in place perfectly, gives good access to the controls and has a clever little clasp for winding up the headphone cable to stop it flapping all over the place.

I ordered that one on Ebay anyway. Shipped from the US for a total of €12

Shocking that you can get it from America for 33% less than in Carphone Warehouse!

Can anyone recommend an arm strap for an iPhone 3GS, where the arm band could be removed, so that you have the option to carry the iPhone in your pocket in the gym for example, but still has a cover on it to protect it from sweat etc?

    cheers folks

your old link doesn't work anymore. is this the one you bought?: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Griffin-Technology-iClear-for-iPhone-with-Armband-Clear/14575849?sourceid=1500000000000003142050&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=14575849

i have an Otterbox case on my phone - the case on the Griffin arm strap looks like it fits pretty tightly around the phone, so I wonder will both work together? it would be too much hassle to have to take the otterbox case off everyday......

    cheers

Have been looking around Liffey Valley today in search of an iPhone running armband and was surprised that the only shop that stocked one was vodafone - can't remember that name of it but it costs €30 and similar to the Griffin case, it is a very tight fit, so I would have to remove my otterbox case first which would be a bit of a pain.

    Does anyone:

    1. know of shops in Dublin (or websites which sell stock to Ireland) which stock these running armbands for an iPhone; and
    2. know of armbands which are not too tight fitting

    cheers!

I got two armbands from Deal Extreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.42570 and 3 screen guards for my 3GS delivered to Ireland for $12.00 in total :D

However, I will say that the Griffen arm band is the best one that I have used. The strap on the griffen is streatchy whereas on the Deal Extreme arm band it is not.

I have also tried the Belkin arm band, it comes in two parts so that you can clip it to your belt or arm band. This product is one of the worst on the market and has no right to call itself a Sports Arm Band, it is not possible to walk/run with this thing swiceling around on your arm.

try HMV or golden disc's they do iphone accessories i don't know how tight they are though! Hmv in cork has a whole new ipod/iphone section.

another safe bet would be compuB...
