Im looking at a 2003 E240 this evening with 90K on the clock, it has full service history, just passed the NCT. He is asking 9,950 for it. Anyone any opinions on them, are they very hard to run (its an Auto) whats tax and insurance like?

    Thanks,

    X.

2.4L is going to command big road tax... high enough mileage on it.. I'd look around. Lovely cars though.

Did you drive it, I've driven one and they're not fast and not economical. I'd recommend a diesel but the inline 6 and 4 in that model melt injector seals.

You'd be far better off with a BMW 520, 525i or 530d imo.

think you could do better. The BMW option is miles better. And it will be impossible to sell it afterwards as its a 2.6 litre engine in that particular model afaik

i got a 98 one, it eats the juice, and its true, although its 170bhp v6 its not exactally anything special when it comes to speed, alothough on the good points, the suspension is so good it floats along the road
