Just a quick question on those laser measuring tape gadgets.

Im looking for a good one, i.e. one that works well.
I did a BER training course with a surveyor who had a great one that worked really well.

If anyone can suggest a good brand / Model, please let me know?

If this is bad mojo for a thread please PM me instead.

This is the one we use. Never had any trouble with it. Good piece of kit

Its a Leica Disto Classic. This site says they're no longer in production though, so whatever replaced it should be a good bet.

Saying that, this is the one we use, but I've never used any other one, so perhaps there are better ones out there. Hope this helps anyway

Just bought a Stanley Fat Max on Ebay for £79 sterling.
Whilst I have always previously used the Leica distos, I'm very happy with this one. the laser is 50m range indoors, and the actual optics on it are by Leica.
the standard deviations are 1/4 inch over 100ft.
So it's a lot cheaper than the Leicas, is just as accurate, and the goodies are made by Leica!

Just be very careful when you are buying one.
    Do. Not. Buy. Sonic.
